"The Gentleman's Magazine was a monthly magazine founded in London, England, by Edward Cave in January 1731. It ran uninterrupted for almost 200 years, until 1922. It was the first to use the term magazine (from the French magazine, meaning "storehouse") for a periodical. Samuel Johnson's first regular employment as a writer was with The Gentleman's Magazine.
A tastefully rebound set of 6 volumes. Light foxing to some pages and plates with the vast majority of all volumes remarkably clean and bright. Binding is very good with no loose pages. After reasonable inspection, all plates and illustrations appear present throughout the 6 volumes. Note that some plates are located in places other than the exact page reference quoted. Overall, a very nice set of consecutive issues of this important publication. Please study photos to understand condition. Happy to provide more photos on request.
