This partial set of Cassell's Illustrated History of England represents one of the most ambitious Victorian historical publishing projects of the 19th century. The six volumes present here — Volumes I, III, IV, V, VI and VII — retain their original leather bindings with gilt‑tooled spines, a hallmark of Cassell's premium editions.
