" A beautifully produced limited edition of Wilhelm Hauff's classic tale Die Geschichte von dem kleinen Muck (Kalif Storch), published by Bruno Cassirer, Berlin in 1920. This finely printed volume forms part of the celebrated Märchenbuch series and is illustrated with delicate and expressive drawings by Karl Walser. Hauff's enduring story, rooted in Orientalist fantasy and moral allegory, is presented here in a refined edition that reflects the high standards of German book design in the early 20th century.

Of particular note is the binding: this example is one of just 100 copies issued in full leather (Ganzleder), with the binding design attributed to E. R. Weiß.
