"Flavius Josephus (c. 37-100 CE) was a Jewish historian, military leader, and writer who documented the history of the Jewish people and the Roman Empire. Born in Jerusalem to a priestly family, he initially fought against Rome in the First Jewish-Roman War (66-73 CE) but later surrendered and became a Roman citizen under Emperor Vespasian. His major works, The Jewish War and Antiquities of the Jews, provide valuable historical accounts of Jewish history, culture, and the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE. His writings remain crucial sources for understanding first-century Judaism and early Christianity."

Lacks outer spine which has been replaced with cloth backed binding tape and clear to the inner front hinge as shown. Retains original covers. Includes ALL plates, frontis, vignette and maps as called for. Several stains present with example of the worst shown.
