"Flavius Josephus (c. AD 37 - c. 100) was a Roman-Jewish historian and military leader. Best known for writing The Jewish War, he was born in Jerusalem—then part of the Roman province of Judea—to a father of priestly descent and a mother who claimed royal ancestry. The Life of Flavius Josephus is an autobiographical text written by Josephus in approximately 94-99 CE - possibly as an appendix to his Antiquities of the Jews (cf. Life 430) - where the author for the most part re-visits the events of the War and his tenure in Galilee as governor and commander, apparently in response to allegations made against him by Justus of Tiberias (cf. Life 336). "

Light wear and minor rub through to covers and spine as shown. Contains 52 plate illustrations + frontis + vignette. Marbled endpapers are detached front and back otherwise binding is excellent. Inside hinges split and covers secure albeit slightly wobbly. There are no inscriptions or bookplates. Pages generally clean with some light foxing present here and there. A beautifully bound copy in very good condition overall. Please study photos to further understand condition.
