Seller Notes: Light wear, rub through and some peeling to leather covers and spine as shown. The leather has been conditioned and some minor colour touch ups to the black. Contemporary inscriptions for the Douglas and Harris families on front endpaper and family register has also been completed for these families. Includes 16 full page plate engravings with protective tissue papers in place. Pages very clean and well presented aside from 2 page custers with some creasing and a few marks (see photo). Gilt edging is in good order, aged but still gleaming. Unusual for a larger bible to be in such good condition with no loose pages, tight binding and secure covers. A beautiful 1864 bible in in very good condition overall. Please study photos to further understand condition.
