"Sebastian Brant (c1458 - 1521) was a German humanist and satirist. He is best known for his satire Das Narrenschiff (The Ship of Fools). In 1494 - just after the voyage of Columbus, he wrote a satirical poem called The Ship of Fools , about people being transported from their native land to the "Land of Fools".
