"Francisco de Paula Martínez de la Rosa y Cornejo (1787 - 1862) was a Spanish statesman and dramatist and the first prime minister of Spain to receive the title of President of the Council of Ministers. He became Prime Minister in the opening months of the First Carlist War and his liberal government oversaw the promulgation of a new Spanish constitution: the Spanish Royal Statute of 1834."

Heavy wear and peeling to leather covers and spines as shown. Hinges are strong and covers are firmly attached. Contemporary inscription on half title page. Pages have a few age marks and some staining to prelims of volume 6 but are otherwise remarkably clean and bright. Binding is excellent with no loose pages.
