1939 Motor Racing by E. Howe Antique British Automotive History Reference Book

Motor Racing
Edited by Earl Howe
Published by Seeley Service & Co Limited: London 1939
Volume XXVII Only

"An interesting volume published (presumably) just weeks or months prior to the outbreak of WW2. As tensions in Europe escalated, the British motor racing scene, like all aspects of British life, was affected. Racing activities were increasingly disrupted as the country prepared for war. By the end of 1939, most major racing events were canceled, and the Brooklands circuit, along with other motorsport facilities, was soon repurposed for military use, ultimately bringing an end to pre-war racing in Britain. "
