Lady Galway Belgium Book - Gross Proceeds Of Sale Given To Belgian Relief Fund
By Various Authors
Published by Hussey & Gillingham Limited: Adelaide 1916

"Lady Marie Carola Franciska Roselyne Galway, the wife of Sir Henry Galway (Governor of South Australia), organized the book as a means to support the Belgium Relief Fund. During World War I, Belgium suffered greatly due to the German invasion in 1914, leading to widespread destruction and a refugee crisis. Many Belgians fled to Allied countries, and international efforts were made to provide aid. The book aimed to generate financial support for these victims, with proceeds directed toward relief efforts. "
