BarriePublished by Hodder & Stoughton: London c1910 (undated)"Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet, OM (9 May 1860 - 19 June 1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright, best remembered as the creator of Peter Pan. He was born and educated in Scotland and then moved to London, where he wrote several successful novels and plays. There he met the Llewelyn Davies boys, who inspired him to write about a baby boy who has magical adventures in Kensington Gardens (first included in Barrie's 1902 adult novel The Little White Bird), then to write Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, a 1904 West End "fairy play" about an ageless boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy who have adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland."Light wear and minor rub through to covers and spine as shown. The Admirable Chrichton - Illustrated by Hugh Thomson - 235 Pages
By J.M. Barrie
Published by Hodder & Stoughton: London c1910 (undated)

"The Admirable Crichton, by J.M. Barrie and illustrated by Hugh Thomson, was published by Hodder & Stoughton in London around 1910. This beautifully illustrated edition of Barrie's celebrated social comedy presents his sharp and imaginative exploration of class and convention. The play follows the aristocratic Lord Loam, his family, and their butler, Crichton, who find themselves shipwrecked on a deserted island where social order is turned upside down. As necessity replaces privilege, the capable and intelligent Crichton becomes the natural leader, exposing the fragility of the British class system with Barrie's trademark wit and tenderness.

Hugh Thomson's delicate line drawings add charm and visual grace to the text, capturing both Edwardian elegance and the humour of Barrie's characterizations. With its fine production and 235 pages of lively narrative and illustration, this early twentieth-century Hodder & Stoughton edition stands as a notable collectible. It would particularly appeal to admirers of J.M. Barrie, enthusiasts of Edwardian illustrated books, and collectors of classic British theatre literature."
