This 1780 Paris (Au Paraclet) edition, printed by Caillau, presents their passionate and philosophical letters in both verse and prose, capturing the emotional intensity and intellectual depth that has fascinated readers for centuries. The inclusion of engraved portrait frontispieces of both Abelard and Héloïse adds further appeal to this already evocative set.

Bound in contemporary full calf leather, both volumes retain their original period bindings with gilt-ruled spines, black title labels, and volume numbering. The compact format (14cm) makes this a particularly attractive cabinet-sized set, typical of late 18th century French publishing. Internally, the books are complete with marbled endpapers and retain a strong period aesthetic throughout.
