"Sir George Grey (1812 - 1898) was a British soldier, explorer, colonial administrator and writer. He served in a succession of governing positions: Governor of South Australia, twice Governor of New Zealand, Governor of Cape Colony, and the 11th premier of New Zealand. He played a key role in the colonisation of New Zealand, and both the purchase and annexation of Māori land."

Volume 1 of 2 only. General wear to covers and spine with scuffing to covers. Some damage to top of outer spine as shown. Front endpaper has been glued down as an old hinge repair. Both boards are secure, binding is strong and there are no loose pages. There is a small tear with loss to title page top right hand corner. Foxing is present mainly to plates with most of the text being clean and well presented. There is a Mechanics Institute Geelong stamp present. Book includes the frontispiece however the 2 maps are missing. There are 10 plates present including 5 indigenous art prints in colour and a plate map. There is an inscription present. There are no loose pages although one plate is almost detached. Please study photos to further understand condition.
