" Colonel George Francis Robert Henderson, CB (2 June 1854 - 5 March 1903) was a British Army officer and author best known for writing Stonewall Jackson and the American Civil War (1898). Various lectures and papers by Henderson were collected and published in 1905 by Captain Malcolm, D.S.O., under the title The Science of War ; to this collection a memoir was contributed by Lord Roberts. "

Sun fading and a few marks to spine as shown. Covers quite clean with minimal wear. Frontis and all 4 folding maps are present and in very good condition. Front blank endpaper clipped and has a signature. Pages are clean with pleasant/light age toning and a few minor age spots only. Binding is solid with no loose pages. There are the remains of 2 pages that give the appearance of having been removed - one is between the end of the contents and the map list and the other is between the last page and the beginning of the index (as shown).
