General Notes About Book: If you look closely on the back inside cover of this book you will see the feint outlines of handwritten manuscript text used as binding underneath the pastedown. Truly beautiful history that could potentially date that piece to pre 1600. Both volumes are RARE - they are both desirable and hard to acquire. The first volume is not vailable online for sale anywhere in the world at time of listing and is only noted as being held by 13 libraries worldwide (mostly in Germany). The second volume is even rarer. Not only are there no copies available for sale but only one known copy is held by a library in Switzerland. We have used WorldCat as references for this book research.

Nicolai Burgundii (1586 - 1649) was an author and professor. The University of Ingolstadt was founded in 1472 by Louis the Rich, the Duke of Bavaria at the time, and its first Chancellor was the Bishop of Eichstätt. Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium was the Roman colony in the Rhineland from which the city of Cologne, now in Germany, developed. It was usually called Colonia and was the capital of the Roman province of Germania Inferior and the headquarters of the military in the region. "
